Okay, so a while back I did a series on SEO for Blogger blogs… I referenced a lot in that series to Google Keyword Tool, which no longer exists. Google has replaced that tool with the “keyword planner” that is integrated into its Google AdWords system, but don’t worry, you can use the new “planner” to find good keywords!
So, you’ll hop on over to the new Google Keyword “Planner”
This is the first page you’ll come to, and you’ll want to click on “Search for new keyword and ad group ideas”.
On this page you’ll see a bunch of adwords mumbo jumbo. The only section you need to worry about is where it says “Your product or service”. This is where you’ll put in the keyword you have in mind for your post. Then you’ll click “Get Ideas”.
Now, once you’ve clicked “Get Ideas” it will take you to a page that looks EVEN WEIRDER… but that’s okay, because we don’t need that page. All you’re going to do here is click “Keyword Ideas”.
Here’s where we get to the good stuff. You can see the top like has your keyword idea that you entered, and then down below it gives you similar ideas for different keywords. This way you can compare different keywords and how well they perform. Remember, you want higher average monthly searches with low or medium competition….
So, there you go. That’s how the new keyword “planner” works, so now you can research keywords ’til your heart’s content!
Good luck!
