1. Follow Others- find other Pinterest users to follow & follow the people that they follow, too!
2. Re-pin great content- you want others to follow you so make sure you are re-pinning valuable information for them
3. Pin original content- this means to pin directly from the source- website or blog- instead of just re-pinning everything. Pinterest will show that YOU pinned this, which encourages others to follow you.
4. Pin things YOUR audience wants to see- stick to your niche & your brand
5. Fill out your profile & verify your website or blog! You’ll get an official little Pinterest check mark beside the link!
6. Use GREAT images for your board covers on Pinterest
7. Use SEO friendly board titles so that your boards show up in search! Think of what others would type if they were searching for what you are pinning to that board.
8. Comment on Pins! Try and comment & like on a few pins a day- this shows Pinterest that you are really interacting and using their site.
9. Share pins that are informative, that solve problems- or anything else that your readers or audience NEEDS
10. Join group boards & create group boards to invite others to join. Search boards on Pinterest and look for the group symbol. Most will have instructions on how to join in the description, and you can always comment on a pin and ask for an invite.
11. Create longer “pin-friendly” images for your blog posts so that your posts can be re-pinned and noticed- vertical images are best!
12. Include a pin it button on your blog and be sure it gives your readers an opportunity to pin all of your content!
13. Include a button linking to your Pinterest profile on your blog or website & encourage others to follow you!
14. Use good descriptions- make them detailed & use keywords!
15. Embed relevant Pinterest boards into your blog posts & encourage your readers to follow them
16. Rearrange your boards- put the most relevant boards to your blog or business up top, and be sure to rotate holiday and seasonal boards towards the top rows of your page.
